Travel To Mauritius – Covid 19 Safety Measures You Should Know

Since the full reopening of its borders, Mauritius aims to provide a safe travel experience to foreigners who wish to visit the island. In order to do so, the government has come up with some Covid 19 safety measures in view of limiting the number of cases and preventing the spread. If you have been thinking of planning your holidays in Mauritius soon, here are some safety measures you should know before visiting the island.

 

International travel restrictions for vaccinated travellers

  • Before entering the island, a negative PCR test must be taken from the last point of embarkation within 72 hours and should be submitted.
  • Foreign nationals must hold a Covid-19 insurance health cover in order to be able to enter the island.
  • Travellers must fill out official forms related to Covid-19 regulations such as the Public Health Passenger Form and the Public Health Covid-19 Passenger Self -Declaration Form either manually or online (printed and signed).
  • If you wish to stay in a hotel or in any other accommodation, you must undergo an antigen test on the day of your arrival and again on the fifth day.
  • You will be free to explore the island once you receive a negative result from your antigen test.

 

Unvaccinated travellers

  • Unvaccinated travellers must have a negative PCR test taken within 72 from their last point of embarkation.
  • They must book their stay in an official quarantine hotel (including meals and transfers) for a 14-night quarantine stay.
  • Foreign nationals must hold a Covid-19 insurance health cover in order to be able to enter the island.
  • Travellers must fill out official forms related to Covid-19 regulations such as the Public Health Passenger Form and the Public Health Covid-19 Passenger Self -Declaration Form either manually or online (printed and signed).
  • Unvaccinated individuals must stay in their hotel room during the entirety of their 14-night quarantine stay and meals will be provided.
  • A PCR test will be taken on the day of their arrival, on day 7 and on day 14. After you receive a negative result on day 14, you will be free to visit the island and to move accommodation.
